Update - Aug 3rd

Rough day for Beth. She was up all night last night as she was having a hard time breathing. She developed wheeziness (spell check?) last night that kept her up most of the night.  She said, “It sounded like I had a bunch of little birds fluttering around in my chest all night’. Catching a deep breath was difficult for her. This is most likely from the cancer in her lungs. The lack of sleep and the laboring to breath amongst other things really wiped her out for most of the day.

A few other quick random things:

  1. Monday at Beth’s doctors appointments they weighed her and she weighed almost exactly the same amount as three weeks earlier.  That was a good thing.  I was for sure she was still losing weight.

  1. Beth’s hair is officially now longer than my hair was when I got my haircut in Florida a few weeks ago by Bob the ex-marine.  Hey! How was I supposed to know that Bob from ‘High and Tight Barber Shop’ used to cut hair in the marines?

  1. The medications Beth is on makes her mouth very dry.  Because of this it is hard for her to talk especially after waking up. It sounds like she is slurring her words.  Don’t be alarmed if you talk to her on the phone.

Quick shout out to our friends Michelle Shene, Joe Jackson and Scott Ridings.  They basically took over Ben’s 16th Birthday party for us. With all that is going on Ben’s party was getting pushed to the backburner. These 3 people put together an amazing party for Ben and if you know those 3 people they don’t do anything halfway. We are beyond grateful.

I am Amanda Hatch's sister. We've been following Beth's situation from clear back when you all lived in Indiana. What a journey you guys have been on. What an adorable family you have. I pray everyday for Beth to be out of pain and your family to find peace in the plan. You are inspiring so many people with your positive attitudes and your faith! Thank you for keeping us all posted. We will keep praying!
